Thursday thoughts . . . .

Jerry, my (twin) brother had to have a basal cell carcinoma removed from his left ear. About a year ago I had one removed from my (bald) head. Seems as though all those really great days in the sun as kids in California were not the best thing for us. But over the last many years we have learned lots about the bad effects of constant exposure to the sun. If you live in a sunny climate, be sure you keep the high UV-blocking lotion on your kids. Fortunately, it appears that Jerry's and my skin problem are not too severe - Jerry's more so than mine - but it can develop into something serious. Now we're being much more careful.

Marlys & I are planning a summer trip to Alaska where we raised our family so I'll be making a lot of entries. We used to take a grandkid to Marlys' family reunion in Minnesota a few years ago, but the younger generation in her family do not seem too interested in reunions. So this year we are taking our 10-year old grandson with us to Alaska. This will give him a chance to see where his dad grew up, camped and fished. We'll be there over July 4th to watch the special events in Seward. What a time we'll have.
