Transition is not a Bad Word

Our church, The Rock Church (TRC), in Monroe, WA is going through a transitional period. During my years as a member of various churches I'm convinced that all churches who want to grow spiritually go through these periods of change, of introspection, of alteration. This process at TRC is painful to long-tme members, interesting (and sometimes welcome) to us short-time members and practically unknown to new attenders. But if the desired result is to be realized, for my part bring it on. Sometimes we get mired in programs and can't even remember why we started them in the first place!

We appreciate the desire of our senior pastor and the elders to be obedient to vision and to trust God enough to initiate and pursue change. Only if we simplify the presentation of the Good News so that all who enter the doors of TRC can recognize it as what they are seeking will this change be worthwhile. Let's face it: salvation is simple (Romans 10:9), we make it complicated.
